Start stretching your smiling muscles
if you are an adult (21 years or older) and are ready to become
a Guide. You'll need about 8 hours a month for one year to lead
a child on excursions in music, the arts, sports, volunteer service,
dining out and nature. You'll also need enthusiasm, patience, and
an unwavering commitment to encourage, engage and enrich a young
person's life.
We'll provide the training to prepare
you for your journey, a well-stocked website full of age-appropriate
ideas for planning activities in each category, ongoing support
and supervision for each Guide/Explorer team, and free tickets and
discounted admissions to some of Sacramento's hottest attractions.

Orientations for our Fall 2010 class:
- Thursday, September 2: 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, September 7: 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday, September 11: 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
- Tuesday, September 14: 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
- Friday, September 17: 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

Application Process
Attend a 1 hour orientation session.
Complete and return the Guide application.
Interview with Wonder staff.
References given by three people.
Criminal history clearances* (state, federal and Child Abuse
Central Index).
Participate in 15 hour Guide training.
Provide copy of DMV record and proof of auto insurance.
* Please note that applicants with criminal backgrounds are ineligible
to be Guides.
