    Note: It would be nice to have the children do art projects such as Valentines, shamrocks, winter holiday cards, etc. and then have them give them to the seniors. Lupe did this with her continuation high school students and they all loved it.

    ANIMALS

    SPCA
    They have different tasks for people.

    Here are several volunteer opportunities:
    Animal Companionship A child under 16 accompanied with a parent/adult at all times can volunteer in the adoption center. Adult has to maintain hold of the animal at all times. You both will need to attend SPCA Volunteer orientation before hand.
    Yard Maintenance Help maintain flowerbeds, pick up trash, and help make the SPCA adoption area look nice.
    Advertisement Advertise for SPCA and spread the word of their activities.

    Sacramento Zoo

    Note: They need volunteers through out the year for various events that they have. The children may be able to help with gardening. Many places are hesitant to allow children to work with animals.

    Note: K-12 kids that meet regularly to work on projects. You can ask to see if the kids can help with a project.
